2024 Simmons Bank Open
A Week of Golf, Philanthropy, and Community
The Simmons Bank Open, held for the first time at Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tennessee, was a week-long celebration of golf, community and philanthropy. Braden Thornberry, a brand ambassador for Team Simmons Bank, participated in the event and Will Zalatoris made a special guest appearance.
A special moment was dedicated to honoring the late Grayson Murray, the 2023 Simmons Bank Open Champion. The private ceremony not only paid tribute to Murray's legacy but also highlighted the close-knit nature of the golf community.
The Refuge Center for Counseling's on-site presence offered immediate support and resources to those seeking support, with the broader goal of promoting mental health and well-being.
Foundation Friday
On Foundation Friday, Simmons First Foundation awarded $10,000 each to Water Walkers and The Refuge Center for Counseling. Water Walkers empowers Nashville's disadvantaged youth through watersports and outdoor adventures. The Refuge Center for Counseling provides mental health services for all, regardless of income.
One of last year's Foundation Friday grant recipients, Soles4Souls, was also present and reported that with their grant money they were able to purchase 500 pairs of shoes for children in the US facing homelessness.
As we wrap up this year's Simmons Bank Open, we extend heartfelt congratulations to Paul Peterson, our 2024 champion. We cannot wait to see everyone next year for another unforgettable event.
